Eagles acquire safety Kevin Byard from the Titans for draft picks and Terrell Edmunds

The #Eagles have added depth at the safety position, trading for Philadelphia native and Titans safety Kevin Byard ahead of the October 31st deadline

In a move that could make them Super Bowl favorites, the Eagles add safety Kevin Byard in a trade with the Tennessee Titans.

Philadelphia GM Howie Roseman has been working the phones in the past few days, looking to add a veteran safety to the mix with Reed Blankenship dealing with rib injuries and Justin Evans on injured reserve.

The Eagles had Terrell Edmunds and Sydney Brown log nearly every snap in Sunday’s win over Miami.

According to The Athletic’s Dianna Russini, Philadelphia will trade a 2024 5th and 6th round pick and safety Terrell Edmunds, for Byard.

Byard’s 2023 salary was reduced to $4 million before the season, and he wants to win a Super Bowl.

He’s not a long-term solution at the safety position, but he’d bring a veteran presence and playmaking ability.
