Dylan Gentry announces commitment to Auburn

Gentry is set to join high school teammate Cam Coleman in Auburn.

Who says Auburn can not recruit well in Phenix City?

It is for sure a new era on the Plains as head coach [autotag]Hugh Freeze[/autotag] and his staff have landed their second 2024 commitment from a Central-Phenix City High School wide receiver in as many weeks.

[autotag]Dylan Gentry[/autotag], a three-star wide receiver and high school teammate of 2024 five-star Auburn commitment [autotag]Cam Coleman[/autotag], announced Sunday that he is pledging to the Tigers. According to 247Sports, Gentry has fielded offers from Florida A&M and Albany State but will join the Tigers after earning a preferred walk-on offer in November.

Gentry ended the season as Central’s third-leading receiver with 540 yards on 29 catches with seven touchdowns. He trailed only Auburn commit Cam Coleman and [autotag]Daylyn Upshaw[/autotag], a 2025 prospect who owns an Auburn offer. In last week’s AHSAA Class 7A state championship game, Gentry caught two passes for 36 yards.
