Cunningham was trending on social media after the shot and even earned a reaction from Dwyane Wade.

Oklahoma State guard Cade Cunningham had gone scoreless in the second half on Saturday but then proceeded to make the biggest shot of his young collegiate career in the closing seconds of a contested matchup against Wichita State.

With the game tied up at 64 points apiece, Cunningham had the ball near center court with the time winding down. The five-star prospect dribbled the ball a few times, then went to work near the left wing, pulled up and drilled what would become the game-winning shot with 9.8 seconds left.

Cunningham, who is expected to be a top-five pick in next year’s NBA draft, was quickly trending on social media after the shot and even earned a shout-out from future Hall of Famer Dwyane Wade on Twitter.

The shot by Cunningham sent the Cowboys to a 6-0 record to remain perfect in non-conference play. He finished the contest with 10 points, six rebounds and three assists in 35 minutes as the Cowboys now turn to Big 12 play this week.

Cunningham turned in a strong performance during the Cowboys’ non-conference schedule, even scoring a season-high 29 points on Tuesday. Now, the basketball world awaits what he has in store for conference play with several ranked opponents ahead.
