Dwight Howard (knee) questionable Wednesday vs. Thunder

The Los Angeles Lakers might be a little light in the frontcourt when they play Oklahoma City on Wednesday.

The Los Angeles Lakers could be a little light in the frontcourt this afternoon when they play the fourth of eight seeding games today against the Oklahoma City Thunder. While it’s not something concerning long term, Howard is considered questionable for today’s game due to knee soreness.

Without Howard, the Lakers will likely feature more of Anthony Davis at center and also give some extended minutes to JaVale McGee. The Lakers have started 2-1 and Howard has seen fewer minutes in the bubble than he earned in the regular season. Obviously, part of that has been Davis’ greatness and his versatility at both power forward and center.

The Lakers play again tomorrow against the Houston Rockets, so it may not be in the best interest of the Lakers to put Dwight out there today when he’s not feeling all the way right. If he does play tonight, he will also have to deal with Oklahoma City’s hulking center Steven Adams.
