Duke women’s basketball to play No. 2 Ohio State in second round

Duke women’s basketball defeated Richmond on Friday to set a second-round battle with Ohio State in the NCAA Tournament.

Duke defeated Richmond in the first round of the NCAA Women’s Tournament on Friday to set up a second-round battle with Ohio State.

The Blue Devils trailed by nine at the halfway mark against the Spiders, but they outscored Richmond 44-24 in the second half for an easy victory.

The Buckeyes, the No. 2 seed in the Portland 3 region, ended the season with a 25-5 record. They lost to Maryland in the quarterfinals of the Big Ten tournament but dominated Maine for an 80-57 victory in the opening round.

The game will take place on Sunday, but a time has not yet been announced.
