While some teams with new coaches such as Villanova have suffered this season, Duke and John Scheyer have kept the Blue Devils steady. They picked up an 86-67 victory over Florida State last time out on Saturday, covering as 17-point favorites. Duke is getting better as the season goes on as many young teams do, and it will be a tough squad come tournament time.
NC State is hoping to regain some of the success it had in the 1980s under Jim Valvano. Coach Kevin Keatts and leading scorer G Terquavion Smith (18.1 points per game) are looking to get the Wolfpack into the tournament. This will be a tough task as after a 10-1 non-conference record, NC State is already 1-3 in the ACC. With the rest of the games soon being conference play, a .500 record on the season is closer to reality for this team.

Duke (-190) is fine to add to a parlay, but it is just slightly too high to make a straight wager on. NC State has struggled since starting conference play and the Blue Devils should win this one, but the risk is not worth the reward.
Against the spread
BET DUKE -4.5 (-105).
Duke has started to pick things up as its young players start to gel after a slow start to the season. This will continue Wednesday as the Blue Devils will be able to pull away from the Wolfpack and win by a comfortable margin. DUKE -4.5 (-105) is my favorite play.
Over/Under
BET OVER 144.5 (-110).
Duke has failed to score fewer than 70 points in any game since Nov. 27. It has scored over 80 on 3 occasions in that span, and that is possible again Wednesday against a Wolfpack team that is currently 8-6 to the Over this season.
