Duane Washington named Co-Big Ten Player of the Week

Ohio State guard Duane Washington was named the Big Ten’s Co-Player of the Week for his efforts against Penn State and Michigan.

It took a while, but Ohio State finally has a Big Ten basketball Player of the Week honor.

The conference announced that guard Duane Washington, Jr. has been named the Co-Big Ten Player of the Week for his performances against Penn State and Wolverines. Against the Nittany Lions, Washington tallied 21 points, but he did even better against the Wolverines. The OSU guard posted a career-high 30 points, with three assists on 12-of-18 shooting.

Washington shared the honor with Iowa center Luka Garza.

Believe it or not, it’s the first time Washington has received a Big Ten Player of the Week honor. And despite the fantastic season the Buckeyes have put together so far this season, the first time an Ohio State player has been recognized.
