Redshirt freshman defensive tackle Chris Mayfield has reportedly entered the transfer portal and will leave Michigan State.
Rainer Sabin of The Detroit Free Press broke the news on Mayfield’s transfer around 4:15 p.m. EDT on Monday. Mayfield was the fifth Spartan to enter the portal and leave the program on Monday alone.
Yet another Michigan State player hits the transfer portal. This time it is redshirt freshman DT Chris Mayfield, the @Freepsports has learned.

Mayfield redshirted this past season and never took a snap for the Spartans in his one year with the program. He was named Scout Team Co-Defensive Player of the Week vs. Northwestern this past season, according to MSUSpartans.com.
Mayfield is originally from Hilliard, Ohio and was a three-star prospect in the 2020 class.
