Tennessee outfielder Drew Gilbert went 1-for-3 playing for Team USA’s National Collegiate Baseball Team on Sunday.
Gilbert also drove in a run and scored another, but his team, the Stripes, came up on the short end of a 5-4 decision against the Stars in an intrasquad game at the USA Baseball National Training Complex.
Gibert has played in three games for Team USA. He is 3-for-11, with three runs scored and one RBI.
Gilbert, a junior for the Volunteers, was named Most Outstanding Player of the Knoxville Regional of the NCAA Tournament in 2021.
His walk-off grand slam propelled the Vols to a 9-8 victory over Wright State in UT’s first home postseason game since 2005.
