Drew Brees loves it as Purdue wrecks Michigan State’s perfect season

Purdue knocks Michigan State from the ranks of the unbeaten

All it takes to bring the best out of Purdue is to put it up against a top-five team.

Call them the Spoilermakers rather than the Boilermakers after Purdue upset Michigan State, 40-29, in West Lafayette, Indiana.

The Spartans were ranked third in the first College Football Playoff rankings. They had no answer for quarterback Aidan O’Connell, who went 40-of-54 for 536 passing yards and 3 touchdowns.

David Bell caught 11 passes for 217 yards and a touchdown.

Another Boilermaker with the initials DB enjoyed the upset.

The victory was the 17th over a top-five school, the most in FBS, for Purdue.

Three weeks ago, the Boilermarkers knocked off then-highly ranked Iowa in a road stunner.
