Tennessee sophomore pitcher Drew Beam started for Team USA. He pitched four innings, recording three strikeouts, while allowing three hits and one earned run. Beam totaled 45 pitches (33 strikes) against 15 batters.
Tennessee sophomore Christian Moore served as Team USA’s designated hitter on Saturday versus Chinese Taipei. He went 0-4 in the contest, including two strikeouts.
Team USA will next play Chinese Taipei on Sunday. First pitch is slated for 6 p.m. EDT at Atrium Health Ballpark in Kannapolis, North Carolina.
