Drew Beam named SEC Co-Pitcher of the Week

Tennessee’s Drew Beam named SEC Co-Pitcher of the Week.

No. 16 Tennessee (30-14, 11-10 SEC) defeated Mississippi State (24-20, 6-15 SEC), 13-2 in seven innings, Saturday at Lindsey Nelson Stadium in the series finale.

In the series finale, Drew Beam (6-2) pitched a complete game for Tennessee, allowing two runs (one earned), three hits and one walk, while recording seven strikeouts.

Beam was named Southeastern Conference Co-Pitcher of the Week on Monday.

Brandon Sproat of Florida also earned SEC Co-Pitcher of the Week honors.

Tennessee will next host Wofford on Tuesday at Lindsey Nelson Stadium. First pitch is slated for 6:30 p.m. EDT (SEC Network+).

The Vols will play at Georgia, Friday-Sunday, for a three-game SEC series.
