Draymond Green expected to return for Warriors against Cavaliers

Draymond Green is expected to return to the Golden State Warriors rotation against the Cleveland Cavaliers.

Draymond Green is expected to return to the Golden State Warriors rotation for their game against the Cleveland Cavaliers on Saturday, Nov. 11. Green missed the Warriors’ Nov. 8 loss to the Denver Nuggets due to personal reasons. He was also absent from the rotation for the opening two games of the season due to an ankle sprain that occurred in the opening days of training camp.

When speaking on the “Willard and Dibbs” show for 95.7 The Game, Steve Kerr noted how he expects Green to return to the lineup. The veteran forward is a key part of the Warriors offensive and defensive system. Green’s contributions will be integral against a Cavaliers team that boasts significant size.

Golden State are 6-3. They’ve looked like a cohesive unit throughout each game despite lacking size in the middle and utilizing two rookies to provide energy off the bench. Green’s leadership is a significant part of that cohesion. He galvanizes teammates, lets them know where they need to be, and quarterbacks the defense, calling audibles on the fly as the play unfolds.

Green’s return to the rotation will give Golden State its best shot of winning its seventh game of the season. It will also help that they play back in front of their fans after a long road trip.
