Tony Allen isn’t a fan of Draymond Green’s latest boast.
The Golden State Warriors star said on Monday he thinks he’s “the best defender to ever play in the NBA.” He actually originally made that bold claim during the 2019 NBA Finals when the Warriors were playing the Toronto Raptors and Kawhi Leonard. But Green’s comments have made rounds on Twitter — and they’ve caused quite the stir.
Allen, who was on the NBA All-Defensive Team six times, was one of many who quickly kiboshed Green’s bold comments. Green spotted Allen’s reaction, and had a strong response.
Yup, we’ve got trash talk. Here’s what they were saying.
BIG 🧢!!! Who stamped you? Who you clamp!?
In the words of Jay Z! “We don’t believe u, u need more people!” @money23green https://t.co/HxBtYXAGXg

I was waiting on you to stamp me Big homie, but your stamp book started running low in 2015 when we used you against your team on the way to my 1ST championship. https://t.co/mDHfltdfZ0

Green is referencing the Warriors’ postseason series against the Memphis Grizzlies during Golden State’s run to a 2015 NBA Finals win. It was clear, at times, the Warriors were happy to let Allen shoot the ball — the Warriors barely guarded him.
Not going to lie, I’m hoping the chatter continues.
