UNC football quarterback Drake Maye ranks among the best in the nation for QBR.

Despite a shaky start to the season, UNC football’s [autotag]Drake Maye[/autotag] remains one of the best quarterbacks in the nation.

Heading into week five of the college football season, Maye ranks 6th in the nation for QBR (87.2). Leading the pack in QBR is Washington’s Michael Penix Jr. (93.8), Miami’s Tyler Van Dyke (91.1), Michigans J.J. McCarthy (91.0), Ohio’s Kyle McCord (88.1) and Texas A&M’s Conner Weigman (88.1).

Maye lit it up the last two games, throwing for 710 yards and three touchdowns. He has been imposing in deep throws, leading all ACC QBs on 20+ yards passes with 13 completions on the season.

If Maye can continue his impressive play as of late, he could creep back into the Heisman conversation, especially with how well the team has been playing. Leading UNC to its first 4-0 start since 1997, Maye continues to become a household name, even mentioning his name on Thursday night football in the Lions vs. Packers game.

So far this season, Maye has 1,187 passing yards, with a career-high 72.7% completion rate.
