Draft Wire projects Cardinals’ rookie stats

What can the Cardinals’ draft picks do in their rookie year? Draft Wire’s Natalie Miller projects the number for four of the players.

The Arizona Cardinals hope to get contributions from some of their nine-player draft class. At least one should be a starter, although several could get a reasonable amount of playing time.

Draft Wire’s Natalie Miller projected the stats for four of the Cardinals’ 2023 draft picks — OL Paris Johnson, LB B.J. Ojulari, CB Garrett Williams and WR Michael Wilson.

  • Paris Johnson: 8 sacks allowed, 12 penalties
  • B.J. Ojulari: 7 sacks, 5 tackles for loss
  • Garrett Williams: 2 interceptions, 8 pass breakups
  • Michael Wilson: 30 catches, 450 yards, 4 touchdowns

Johnson is expected to start either at left guard or right tackle. Those numbers are a real possibility.

Ojularo getting seven sacks would be fantastic.

Williams is coming back from a torn ACL. He won’t get on the field util training camp, so it will be tough for him to crack the lineup early.

The truth is that fifth-round corner Kei’Trel Clark has a decent shot at playing time.

Wilson will be the team’s fifth receiver, so 30 catches would be fantastic, but he probably won’t get that many.
