Gators quarterback Kyle Trask really is making it look easy. After his most recent performance, another gem in a 63-35 win over Arkansas, the passer has won the Maxwell Player of the Week Award for the second week in a row.
Against the Razorbacks, Trask threw for 356 yards and six touchdowns. Despite UA specializing in forcing turnovers, Trask avoided them entirely.
Trask also committed zero turnovers against a defense which entered the game with the No. 3 turnover margin (+8) and had the No. 24 passing efficiency defense in the country. The Trask-led Florida offense totaled 593 yards and averaged 7.1 yards per play against the Razorbacks, who entered the game allowing 401.5 yards per game on average.
Trask became the seventh player in SEC history to throw for multiple six-touchdown games in a career and just the fifth to do it twice in one season. For his efforts, he was also named the SEC Co-Offensive Player of the Week.
Trask is the odds-on favorite to win the Heisman Trophy now at the conclusion of the regular season, and Florida will hope his high-profile play will continue so the team can clinch its first division title since 2016.
