Don’t look now, but the Vikings could make a run for the playoffs

The Vikings’ upcoming schedule might have fans hopeful for the playoffs.

The Vikings upset the Packers 28-22 in Week 8 at Lambeau Field and suddenly, at 2-5, maybe the Vikings have a chance at the playoffs?

The Vikings will host the 3-4 Lions in Week 9, which will be a huge game for each team and will likely decide what direction each team is going this season.

While it’s extremely unlikely the Vikings make a push to the playoffs, their upcoming schedule is relatively easy.

Over the next five weeks, the Vikings’ schedule is as followed:

  • vs. Lions
  • @ Bears
  • vs. Cowboys
  • vs. Panthers
  • vs. Jaguars

There’s certainly a path for the Vikings to go 4-1 or 5-0 during this stretch. That would put them at 6-6 or 7-5 heading into Week 13 against the Bucs.

Obviously, there is a reason why this team is 2-5 this season so assuming they’d win six-straight games is extremely hopeful, but the team has the talent to do it.

The folks over at FiveThirtyEight give the Vikings a 12% chance to make the playoffs.
