There’s perhaps no greater honor than getting to throw out the first pitch at a Major League Baseball game. Especially when you have nothing to do with baseball.
Such is the case for a local Michigan football player.
It was revealed on Thursday that an in-state product for the Wolverines will be throwing out the first pitch for the Detroit Tigers — an honor usually reserved for former players. Hailing from West Bloomfield (Mich.), running back Donovan Edwards isn’t just a fan favorite, but going into his third year with the program, he’s becoming a national star.
However, it appears that on Thursday afternoon, Edwards will be in Comerica Park to throw out the first pitch when the Tigers host the Los Angeles Angels.

The game is set for 1:10 p.m. EDT in Detroit. The arrangement was set up by name, image and likeness powerhouse Valiant Management.
