The Miami Dolphins have announced that they’ve waived cornerback Elijah Hamilton, as they aim to get their roster down to 53 players before the deadline on Tuesday.
Hamilton signed with Miami this offseason as an undrafted free agent out of Lousiana Tech.
Despite having depth questions in their defensive backfield, the Dolphins decided that his performance in the preseason, which included three tackles, wasn’t enough to warrant a roster spot.
With Hamilton’s departure, along with the other moves that they made at the position on Monday, the Dolphins are down to seven cornerbacks – Xavien Howard, Byron Jones, Nik Needham, Keion Crossen, Noah Igbinoghene, Kader Kohou and Elijah Campbell.
