Dolphins to sign TE Eric Saubert

Miami is addressing one of their biggest needs.

The Miami Dolphins continue to address their biggest needs of the offseason on the first day of the new league year.

According to NFL Network’s Cameron Wolfe, the Dolphins have agreed to terms with tight end Eric Saubert.

Saubert, 28, was a fifth-round pick of the Atlanta Falcons in 2017 after a collegiate career at Drake. He also spent time with the Chicago Bears and Jacksonville Jaguars before joining the Denver Broncos for the last two years.

Since signing with the Broncos, he’s recorded 23 receptions for 195 yards and two touchdowns.

Saubert joins Durham Smythe and Tanner Conner as the tight ends on Miami’s roster after Hunter Long was involved in the Jalen Ramsey trade.

With his lack of production, this probably won’t be Miami’s only move of the offseason at the position.
