Dolphins to activate WR Odell Beckham Jr. from PUP list, per report

Odell Beckham Jr. is set to make his Dolphins debut Sunday.

Three-time Pro Bowl wide receiver Odell Beckham Jr. will make his Miami Dolphins debut Sunday, as the team plans to activate him from the physically unable to perform (PUP) list Saturday, according to NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport and Tom Pelissero.

Beckham, 31, was listed as questionable to play against the New England Patriots after he missed all of training camp as well as the first four games of the regular season as he recovered from an offseason procedure.

“We kind of had an understanding of probably not going to be ready,” Beckham told reporters Thursday. “[Mike McDaniel] ensured me that that was fine, just try and get back as fast as you can.”

But just a few days after making his practice debut with the team, Beckham is likely to get slowly worked into the Dolphins offense.

On Friday, McDaniel said the team would plan “modified usage” of Beckham if he plays Sunday and “youd expect the following game there be a little uptick” in play time.

The Dolphins don’t need to be a subsequent roster move to clear space on the 53-man roster after releasing veteran quarterback Tim Boyle on Friday afternoon.
