The Miami Dolphins have had some bad luck with injuries at the linebacker position in recent weeks, losing Bradley Chubb, Jaelan Phillips, Andrew Van Ginkel, Jerome Baker and Cameron Goode for the season.
After reportedly signing Justin Houston on Monday, the Dolphins are adding more talent on the edge, as they’re signing Bruce Irvin to the active roster and Malik Reed to their practice squad, according to NFL Network’s Tom Pelissero.
Irvin, 36, was once among the best outside linebacker in the game, recording 56.5 sacks in his career. He played just two games for the Detroit Lions this season recording just one sack.
Reed, 27, is probably a familiar name to Dolphins fans, as he spent this past offseason with Miami and was on the roster through the preseason. Since then, he’s played four games for the Las Vegas Raiders this season, recording three tackles.
Miami needs all the help they can get on the edge, so it wouldn’t be surprising to see these guys get meaningful reps on Saturday.
