Dolphins interviewed LB coach Anthony Campanile for defensive coordinator job

For the second year in a row, he gets in an interview for the defensive coordinator job.

With the end of the 2023 season just two weeks away, the Miami Dolphins are looking to find their next defensive coordinator after parting ways with Vic Fangio just one year after hiring him.

According to KPRC2’s Aaron Wilson, the Dolphins have already interviewed linebackers coach Anthony Campanile for the open position.

Campanile, 41, originally joined Miami’s staff in 2020 under Brian Flores and has held his position through multiple coordinators and a head coach change.

Prior to moving to South Florida, Campanile was coaching in the college game, spending a season at Michigan (2019), three seasons at Boston College (2016-18) and three at Rutgers (2013-15).

Before the Dolphins hired Fangio last offseason, Campanile also interviewed for this position, so he may have a leg up on some of the other candidates. He’s the second internal candidate that’s been reported – the other being outside linebackers coach Ryan Slowik.
