Does the D.C. area fandom belong to Washington or the Ravens?

Both Washington and Baltimore are closer in proximity than many people probably think, but who holds the majority of fandom in the area?

When you think of Washington D.C., and the greater Maryland area, it’s fair to say that most people tend to think of the Washington Football Team when it comes to sports.

However, with the recent rise of the Baltimore Ravens, is it going to remain that way going forward?

Looking at the past decade or more, the Ravens have had much more success than Washington, winning a Super Bowl more recently, and in all, putting a much better product on the field. Has that swayed the fans vote in the area, though?

According to NBC Sports Washington, who worked in conjunction with Vivid Seats, not as much as you’d think.

That’s a lot of burgundy, and not a lot of purple. Of course, in the Baltimore area there is strong Ravens representation, but throughout much of the Virginia and Maryland area, Washington’s burgundy & gold still stands strong.
