The Philadelphia 76ers are one win away from their first playoff sweep since 1985 as they look to finish off the Washington Wizards on Monday night on the road. They are in this position due to the offensive efficiency they have displayed through the first three games.
They scored 125 points in Game 1 followed by 130 in Game 2 and they then scored 132 in Game 3. A lot of that is due to the fact that Joel Embiid has been absolutely dominant, but it also means that they have gotten efficient play from other players.
One of those guys has been Tobias Harris who has been terrific in this series thus far. He is averaging 25.3 points while shooting 57.1% from the floor and 45.5% from deep as the Sixers have befitted from his strong play.
He had 20 points on 8-for-14 shooting along with 13 rebounds and five assists in their Game 3 win on Saturday.
“After he came back from that injury, it took him a while,” said coach Doc Rivers. “I thought he actually used those games, you could see him really working and prepare himself for the playoffs. Straight-line attacks, quick decisions, rebounding the ball was one of the things we thought that he dropped off in the second half and he’s back up in the rebounds again.”
As long as Harris continues this efficiency from both the floor overall and from deep, the Sixers will be tough to handle the rest of the way. Philadelphia did shoot 17-for-33 from deep on Saturday as they have been able to knock down triples to begin this series.
“The biggest thing we wanted to do is get good 3s, efficient 3s,” said Harris. “We didn’t just want to jack them up there. We wanted to get the right ones where the ball moves and a lot of them come out of the mismatches and double teams that we see on the floor so we just evaluate where we can get good shots from and guys are settled, they’re ready, they know where to get those looks, and that only helps for the confidence.”
Philadelphia and Washington will tip off at 7 p.m. EDT from Capital One Arena on Monday.
