Doc Rivers feeling confident Sixers can win without injured Joel Embiid

Doc Rivers is feeling confident that the Philadelphia 76ers can still win with Joel Embiid sidelined with his knee injury.

CAMDEN, N.J.–The Philadelphia 76ers find themselves in an all too familiar position as they head into the Eastern Conference semifinals. Joel Embiid is dealing with another injury as they head into Round 2 of the playoffs and they will have to manage without him.

Coach Doc Rivers said at practice on Tuesday that Embiid was not able to participate. He only watched film with the team as the big fella continues to progress through his injury.

As the Sixers advance, they will now have to lean on the success they had in the 2022-23 season without Embiid in order to get the job done in Round 2. During the season, Philadelphia was 11-5 in the games the big fella missed. That is what Rivers is having his team lean on compared to their struggles in the past.
