Do the Celtics need to be wary of the Detroit Pistons?

Do the Boston Celtics need to be wary of a trap game when they face the Detroit Pistons on Thursday, December 28?

The Boston Celtics will face the Detroit Pistons on Thursday (Dec. 28.) Detroit is currently on a 27-game losing streak and will be heading into their contest against the Celtics with a point to prove against arguably the best team in the NBA. As such, there’s a legitimate concern that Boston could be heading into a “trap game.”

In a recent episode of Kevin Garnett‘s “KG Certified” podcast, he is joined by Paul Pierce and Tony Allen to discuss the mentality of a losing team like Detroit and whether their focus is truly on winning basketball games. They also question if Detroit’s players are too focused on their individual stat lines rather than finding ways to win as a collective.

With so many questions hanging over Detroit’s heads, the Celtics will head into their game against the Eastern Conference strugglers full of confidence. Still, Boston will need to remain focused and take the Pistons seriously, as, despite their struggles, the roster is full of high-quality young talent who are capable of swinging the flow of a game.
