One of the biggest problems the Boston Celtics had last season was the inevitable fourth-quarter struggles that star wings Jaylen Brown and Jayson Tatum often saw overtake them after spending too much energy doing too much in the game’s first three quarters.
To help solve that, the Celtics added veteran depth to the roster, but with news that one of the vets — Danilo Gallinari — tore his ACL, the plan to lighten the load for the duo became a little more difficult. Given a change in how Tatum and Brown play might also have the same effect, it’s fair to ask:
Do the Celtics actually need to load manage such a young duo? Or is there more than one way to skin the proverbial cat?
The hosts of the CLNS Media “Celtics Beat” podcast got together with Celtics Blog’s Keith Smith to talk it over on a recent episode.
Take a look at the clip embedded above to hear what they had to say.
