Disney bubble NBA restart preview: Boston Celtics vs Washington Wizards

The Boston Celtics finish their slate of eight seeding games in the Disney ‘bubble’ facing the Washington Wizards, winless in the restart.

The seeding games of the restarted 2019-20 regular season restart at the Disney NBA campus come to a close for the Boston Celtics and Washington Wizards today as the Celtics play the Wizards in what will be Boston’s last non-playoff game of the season, and Washington’s last game of the season of any kind.

Eliminated from postseason contention last week, the Wizards have been the proverbial punching bag of the restart taking place at the Wide World of Sports complex in Lake Buena Vista, Florida.

Winless in the so-called ‘bubble,’ Washington is without point guard John Wall, shooting guard Bradley Beal, forward Davis Bertans and shooting guard Garrison Matthews, leaving the ‘Zards with a glorified G League team, in effect.

However, with Jaylen Brown, Jayson Tatum, Kemba Walker, Marcus Smart, Gordon Hayward and Daniel Theis all taking the game off to rest, Boston too will be fielding a glorified G League team that Washington could conceivably beat, so if you’re a fan of seeing the youth movement get their run, this game’s for you.

Even with the high profile, high-volume rest for Boston, they are still a formidable team, with most online bookmakers granting the Celtics a -2 spread to reflect that.

Our prediction is the Boston Red Claws, er … Celtics, win 101-79.
