Did Dennis Schroder hint that LeBron James is nearing a return?

Lakers guard Dennis Schroder made a curious comment about LeBron James’ recovery and possible timeline regarding a return to action.

LeBron James has been out of action for almost three weeks with a right foot tendon injury, and from all indications, although he is inching toward a return, he isn’t close to actually coming back.

The Athletic’s Jovan Buha said during a HoopsHype podcast this week that James will likely return sometime in early April, assuming he returns at all this season.

The Lakers have been tight-lipped about the nature of his injury, making it difficult for fans and pundits to make any educated guesses about when he may be able to play again.

Guard Dennis Schroder seemed to hint something about James’ impending return while mentioning that doctors in his native Germany “are great.”

It sounds like Schroder may have been referencing Regenokine, which is a treatment developed in Germany that helps treat joint pain and ailments using a patient’s own blood. It’s a procedure that started to become well known when late Lakers legend Kobe Bryant underwent it late in his career to address knee problems, and it helped him have a couple more very productive years in his mid-30s.

James will reportedly be re-evaluated sometime next week. Of course, that does not mean he will be cleared to play at that time.
