Diana Taurasi to a ref after getting a technical foul: ‘I’ll see you in the lobby later’

Uh oh.

Diana Taurasi is one of the best basketball players on the planet and easily one of the two or three best players to play in the WNBA of all-time. Her resume is unmatched.

She is also probably one of the handful of basketball players in the world that you absolutely DO NOT want to be on the wrong side of.

She will let anyone have it at just about anytime and she doesn’t care about techs. On Friday night in the Mercury’s game against the Lynx, that was made clear.

An official had just called a shooting foul on Taurasi as she was defending Napheesa Collier in the middle of the third quarter. Taurasi had A LOT to say to the official about the call.

No clue what she said, exactly, but whatever it was earned her a technical foul from. And here’s what she had to say to that official after the call was made.

“I’ll see you in the lobby later.” 

OH. MY. GOODNESS. That poor ref. They don’t know what they just got themselves into.

Living on the same campus as Diana Taurasi and calling a technical foul on her is brave. Shoutout to the ref for that dedication to their job because, uh, couldn’t be me.

WNBA fans agreed with me.

Let’s hope that lobby meeting goes well for that ref’s sake whenever it does happen.
