DeVonta Smith is on pace to leave Alabama as the Crimson Tide’s best WR ever

Alabama wide receiver DeVonta Smith is a relatively quiet member of a loud and in your face offense. However, he may leave the program as…

Touchdowns.

Career:

Smith holds this record and is on pace to absolutely blow it out of the water.

Currently, he has 35 in his career, which is four more than Amari Cooper’s previous record of 31. However, with plenty of time left in Alabama’s season, he is on pace to add upwards of nine additional touchdowns, which would put him at 44 career touchdowns.

Single season:

Another list in which Smith makes multiple appearances. In this case, his 2020 season total ranks No. 4 with 12, and his 2019 season total ranks No. 2, tied with Jerry Jeudy, at 14.

The No. 1 spot belongs to none other than Amari Cooper with 16 touchdowns in 2014.

Assuming Smith stays on pace, he could end this season on top with roughly 21 touchdowns.

Single game:

Smith owns the two top spots on this list. This season, his four-touchdown performance against Mississippi State ranks No. 2, and his unforgetabble five-touchdown game against Ole Miss in 2019 takes No. 1 on the list.

Next … what does it mean?
