The San Antonio Spurs drafted Victor Wembanyama with the first pick in the 2023 NBA Draft, giving them a clear direction moving forward – build around the 19-year-old Frenchman. Wembanyama is oozing with potential and has all the talent and swagger to be one of the best players in the league.
However, he can’t do it all by himself. The Spurs will need to work to surround the youngster with talent moving forward if they expect him to bring them back to the promised land. Luckily for San Antonio, they already have some solid young talent on the roster, including 22-year-old wing Devin Vassell.
On a recent edition of “The Leap” on the sdpn YouTube channel, NBA reporter Esfandiar Baraheni and Air Alamo’s Noah Magaro-George discussed why Vassell will be a star for the Spurs moving forward.
If Vassell can turn into a star-caliber player, the Spurs may already have their Wembanyama co-pilot on the roster.
