Devin McCourty says Patriots should bring back Chris Hogan

“We get him back there, we got 7-Eleven, always open.”

The New England Patriots have an incomplete depth chart at receiver, and safety Devin McCourty thinks he has a solution. He wants the team to bring back wideout Chris Hogan.

On Devin’s podcast with his twin brother Jason, Devin hosted Hogan and built the hype for him to make a Patriots return.

“Every time I say something on this show, it becomes (a story), so here we go,” he said Sunday night while hosting Hogan on the “Double Coverage” podcast. “… You heard it here first, man: Chris Hogan back to New England. We get him back there, we got 7-Eleven, always open. We’ve got a new quarterback, let’s bring an old target back. That’s what we do in New England. LeGarrette (Blount) came back, next thing you know, 18 touchdowns. That’s what happens in New England. Deion Branch came back in 2010, touchdowns everywhere.

“So New England, get a head start. Start your articles now. It’s 8:47. Devin has said it.”

Hogan reminded everyone that he played three years in New England with three Super Bowl appearances. Hogan added jokingly: “Maybe Bill (Belichick) is tuned into this right now.”

Hogan had a tough time getting playing time in Carolina, where he had eight catches for 67 yards in 2019. In New England, he logged 34 catches or more, 430 yards or more and three touchdowns or more in each of his three seasons.
