Devin Bush signing doesn’t mean Seahawks can’t also add Bobby Wagner

During his weekly radio show, Seattle Seahawks GM John Schneider confirmed the team is continuing to talk with free-agent LB Bobby Wagner.

The Seattle Seahawks added a little depth to the linebacking corps this spring when they signed former Pittsburgh Steelers LB Devin Bush.

Seahawks general manager John Schneider sang Bush’s praises on Thursday during his weekly radio show on Seattle Sports 710 am.

“Obviously an instinctive player, really talented college player,” Schneider said of Bush. “The thing that stands out this past year is the way he’ll strike ya, he can really take on guards, he’s not afraid to throw his body around, and he still has that short close about him. Closing the distance and, like, playing with good angles and the good eyes.

“It’ll be fun to see him fit into our group here.”

But the linebacker most Seahawks fans want to see in a Seattle uniform this year is none other than All-Pro Bobby Wagner, who is once again a free agent.

Not surprisingly, Schneider was asked whether or not the one-year Bush deal would impact a reunion with Wagner.

“No,” Schneider stated. “You know, we’ve been talking to Bobby, and what I can tell you is we’ll see what shakes out, see how this goes. You know how much respect we have for Bobby. He had a great season this last year.

“We’ll continue to speak with him and stay in touch and see how this goes.”
