Prediction

Trail Blazers 109, Pistons 101

Moneyline (ML)

The Trail Blazers (-228) are heavy home favorites even without Lillard. They’ve dropped three straight games, including a 128-115 loss to the New Orleans Pelicans Friday. Meanwhile, the Pistons (+185) have lost five in a row and they’re coming off a 126-106 beatdown at home courtesy of the Milwaukee Bucks.

The Blazers are 15-12 on home court, while the Pistons are 8-19 on the road. Portland will still have the best player in this game with SG C.J. McCollum, but the low odds are too chalky to warrant a wager for a team currently 3.5 games outside of a Western Conference playoff spot. PASS and look to the spread for greater odds.

Line/Against the Spread (ATS)

Back the TRAIL BLAZERS (-5.5, -110) to win by at least 6 points vs. the lowly Pistons (+5.5, -110). Portland is just 23-32-2 ATS overall but a more respectable 11-14-2 on home court. Detroit is just 21-36-1 ATS overall and 10-16-1 on the road.

The Blazers are also 8-9 ATS when playing with a rest disadvantage, but the Pistons are just 3-6 ATS with the advantage. The Pistons are 7-13-1 ATS as road underdogs, while losing by an average of 8.8 points in those games.

Over/Under (O/U)

Take the UNDER 223.5 (-106). The Pistons average just 107.9 points per game with a respectable 110.8 PPG allowed. The Blazers score 113.4 PPG and allow 115.5, but the absence of Lillard will drag down the offensive output. The Pistons haven’t scored more than 112 points in a game during the five-game slide, and that outing went to overtime.
