Derrick Henry’s stiff-arm led to elite-level trolling of Josh Norman on Instagram

At the very least, Derrick Henry helped put Josh Norman over the top.

While former Buffalo Bills cornerback Josh Norman has made a name for himself during his days in the NFL, nobody was really talking or thinking about him much last season — at least not nationally — until Tennessee Titans running back Derrick Henry got a hold of him.

When the Bills and Titans met in Week 5 on national television in a game that had been postponed due to Tennessee’s COVID-19 outbreak, Norman attempted to tackle Henry, only to get tossed like a rag doll.

There was a flag on the play so the carry ended up not counting, but the highlight itself created a memory that will no doubt last forever.

As you’d expect with the undefeated internet, Norman’s failed attempt at a tackle drew plenty of ridicule and memes, which likely helped the veteran corner land on a list nobody wants to be on.

According to The Action Network, Norman ranked in the top five of the most-trolled players on Instagram in 2020. Of the 57,506 posts about Norman, 22.1 percent, or 12,708, were negative. That was a higher percentage than any player in the NFL.

The Action Network doesn’t explicitly say what the posts were about, but at the very least we have to assume that the play with Henry put Norman over the top, and at most Henry was the direct cause of him landing on this list.

Henry himself didn’t land in the top 10 of the most-trolled players, but did rank at No. 14 with 11.7 percent of the Instagram posts about him being negative.
