There’s a lot of debate about where the top prospects in this year’s draft will end up. Among the more intriguing players in that discussion is former LSU cornerback Derek Stingley Jr.
Stingley burst onto the scene as a true freshman, registering a dominant campaign during the national title run in which he totaled six interceptions and 15 pass breakups. But his production dropped off over the last two years, in part due to reticence to target him and also due to injuries that limited him to just 10 games in that span.
His recovery from a Lisfranc fracture — which held him out of drills at the NFL Scouting Combine in Indianapolis last week — has certainly hurt his draft stock, but he’s still seen as a consensus first-round pick.
With NFL free agency mostly in the books, teams have a much better idea what their needs will be heading into the draft. Here’s where the most recent projections have Stingley landing.
