[autotag]Denny Hamlin[/autotag] started the 2024 NASCAR season better than anyone else. Hamlin won the Busch Light Clash at The Coliseum after a flurry of late restarts. It wasn’t a significant moment for the Joe Gibbs Racing driver as it doesn’t count toward the regular season; however, another career highlight could be on the way if the oddsmakers are right.
According to DraftKings Sportsbook, Hamlin is the favorite to win the 2024 Daytona with +900 odds. This is a shift in the odds, as defending NASCAR Cup Series champion Ryan Blaney was the favorite during the offseason. Blaney, Kyle Busch, Brad Keselowski, and Kyle Larson round out the top-5 favorites, with all four never winning the Great American Race.
Hamlin has won the Daytona 500 three times, and a fourth victory would put him on an exclusive list with Richard Petty and Cale Yarborough. Currently, Petty and Yarborough are the only drivers to have more than three wins in the Daytona 500. On Sunday afternoon, Hamlin looks to prove the oddsmakers correct and become a Daytona 500 legend.
