DeMeco Ryans ‘expected’ to be hired as Houston Texans head coach

Though it is not official, DeMeco Ryans is expected to be hired as the next head coach for the Houston Texans

Former Alabama linebacker DeMeco Ryans has done a phenomenal job as the defensive coordinator for the San Francisco 49ers and he is now expected to become the next head coach for the Houston Texans, according to a report by NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport.

Ryans and the 49ers’ season came to an end in the NFC Championship Game as injury-riddled San Francisco fell hard to the Super Bowl-bound Philadelphia Eagles.

From 2002-2005, Ryans played linebacker for the Crimson Tide as was drafted by the Texans in the second round of the 2006 NFL draft. This is a homecoming of sorts by the Bessemer, Alabama native.

Roll Tide Wire will continue to follow Ryans and other former Alabama players throughout the 2023 offseason.
