Gameday is finally here and for many Cowboys fans they’re bracing for yet another playoff heartbreak. And they have every reason to be, given six of their last seven playoff exits have come down to falling short on the final drive of the game.
On top of that, it’s been over 27 years since Dallas has even reached the NFC conference title game.
You can feel the pressure reaching a fever pitch for Cowboys Nation.
Cowboys legend DeMarcus Ware admitted in an interview to Sports Seriously that players feel that pressure too.
“Yes, It was a lot more pressure with the Cowboys owning that star. This is probably the number one team in sports,” said Ware to Sports Seriously. “So when they go somewhere, it’s like bringing the Super Bowl to your town and you gotta own that.”
Pressure aside, Ware believes Dallas should have confidence going into their game against a less than stellar 8-9 Bucs team and believes one matchup will dictate who wins the game:
“The Cowboys will win if they control the front seven, meaning the trenches, they’ll win this football game because Zeke will get the touches, Pollard will get the touches and the defensive line gets that pressure that’s needed to slow down Brady. So controlling the trenches hands down.”
Does he think that will actually happen?
“I would say the Cowboys win. I think they’re just tired of hearing that ‘oh, you going to play Brady?’ I think that’s just gas on the fire and they’ll be able to close this game out and go down there and get a win.”
