DeMar DeRozan joins elite club with 8th straight 35-point game

DeMar DeRozan is chasing one of Michael Jordan’s Bulls records.

Chicago Bulls star DeMar DeRozan’s dominant run continued on Thursday at the United Center, where he delivered another sensational scoring night, dropping 37 points on the Hawks on 15-of-21 shooting from the field.

DeRozan also came up clutch in the final seconds. With the Bulls trailing 109-108, DeRozan hit a mid-range jumper with 15.1 seconds despite being fouled, then converted at the line for the three-point play.

The Bulls held on to win 112-108, extending their winning streak to six games and moving them a half-game ahead of the Miami Heat in the race for the No. 1 seed. Zach LaVine finished the game with 20 points, and Nikola Vucevic had a double-double with 12 points and 10 rebounds.

DeRozan has now recorded eight consecutive 35-point performances, becoming just the seventh player to ever accomplish that feat.
