Deion Sanders looking for more passion out of his Buffs down the stretch

Coach Prime believes his Buffs have lost some of the passion they had earlier this season

Head coach Deion Sanders and the Colorado football team have had a rough month or so in Boulder. After starting the season 3-0, the Buffs have since gone 1-5 and must win two out of their final three games to earn bowl eligibility.

Following this weekend’s loss to the Oregon State Beavers, Coach Prime was asked about the mindset of his team and if attention to detail has been a problem as the Buffs enter the final stretch of the regular season. While he doesn’t believe attention to detail is currently an issue, he did point to something else that might be contributing to the Buffs’ struggles.

“I sense the attention to detail, but I don’t sense the passion,” Sanders said. “The passion of that first game, we’re missing that.”

There is no denying that Colorado entered the 2023 season with a certain edge that helped catapult the Buffs to their hot start. But after losing consecutive games, that passion has been lost in Coach Prime’s eyes.

With Colorado’s final home game of the season coming up this weekend against a good Arizona Wildcats team, Coach Prime will have to quickly help restore that passion.
