Death Stranding might be heading to PC Game Pass

Hideo Kojima’s peculiar open-world adventure Death Stranding might release on PC Game Pass.

It’s been a hot minute since Death Stranding introduced us to package delivery and pee breaks as gameplay mechanics in 2019. Now, it looks like even more people can soon delve into Hideo Kojima’s bizarre brainchild.

The official Twitter account for PC Game Pass began teasing something on Monday through its profile avatar. “Sometimes we just like a good landscape picture,” read a tweet. The image in question shows an Icelandic backdrop with the Game Pass logo superimposed overtop.

Everyone was still in an uproar initially. That is until user naven0m figured out it is probably Death Stranding since the landscape is seemingly pulled straight out of Kojima Productions’ latest. Check out the side-by-side comparisons below.

Obviously, this isn’t a confirmation, but it’s close enough. Death Stranding Director’s Cut came out on PC in March this year, and releasing on Games Pass only makes sense. Recently, Kojima announced a partnership with Microsoft on an all-new title. So both parties are playing nice already.

While Death Stranding wasn’t among the titles coming to Game Pass in late August, it could show up elsewhere. Some believe the announcement could come during Gamescom 2022 next week.
