Daytona expected to host NASCAR’s regular season finale in 2025

Daytona International Speedway is expected to host the NASCAR Cup Series regular-season finale during the 2025 season.

Daytona International Speedway has been the NASCAR Cup Series regular-season finale since the 2020 season; however, that changed for the 2024 season due to the Summer Olympics. The Cup Series calendar was essentially moved up one week, with the Southern 500 representing the regular season finale, but that’s expected to change in 2025.

According to The Athletic’s Jordan Bianchi, NASCAR is “all but certain” to put Daytona as the Cup Series regular-season finale in 2025. Some within NASCAR’s fanbase desire to have the Cup Series compete at Daytona on Fourth of July Weekend, but the regular season finale has been a massive success over the last couple of years.

If Daytona is happy hosting the regular season finale in a normal year, NASCAR shouldn’t worry about making changes anytime soon. Moving Daytona to the 26th race has been one of the sport’s best decisions of the last decade, and there is no need to alter the schedule just to have a change. NASCAR is making the right choice, and it’s one that provides the best entertainment.
