David Ortiz pranked Derek Jeter with a custom Red Sox jersey to welcome him to FOX Sports

David Ortiz found the perfect way to prank his new FOX Sports co-worker Derek Jeter.

Boston Red Sox legend David Ortiz found the perfect way to prank his brand-new FOX Sports co-worker Derek Jeter on the latter’s first day on the job.

Jeter started his broadcasting career with FOX Sports on Saturday at the MLB World Tour Series in London. The New York Yankees icon will now provide baseball analysis for the fans at home, adding to his immeasurable impact on the game.

Well, Ortiz and Jeter used to be the best of enemies in one of baseball’s most heated rivalries between the Red Sox and Yankees.

Ortiz couldn’t help but bring the rivalry to Saturday’s broadcast by “gifting” Jeter a personalized Boston jersey with his name on it.

As you could imagine, Jeter quickly tossed the Red Sox jersey off the broadcast desk as the rest of the crew, which included Kevin Burkhardt and Jeter’s former Yankees teammate Alex Rodriguez, laughed at Ortiz’s prank.

This is a very funny way of welcoming a former rival to your team, so kudos to Ortiz for refusing to let a day pass without reminding Jeter that some rivalries never go away.
