Television host and comedian David Letterman stopped by on Nets Media Day on a mission to troll Kevin Durant. Letterman’s antics started when he introduced himself as “Dave from Basketball Digest” and things sort of took off from there. He asked the Nets star why people call him KD. Durant responded saying, “My first name is Kevin with a K and my last name is Durant with a D.”
The trolling continued when Letterman told KD, “I just got off the phone with the Dolan family and they said they’re talking to the commissioner now. They’re looking at working out a contractual deal that will allow you, when you’re not playing for the Nets, you’ll be able to play for the Knicks. Comments?”
A fed up Durant replied, “Alright Dave, that was the last one.” Except, this actually was not his last question. Before leaving, Letterman made sure to ask Durant a question about the New Orleans Pelicans. He said, “What about the Pelicans? When you play the Pelicans does it kind of make you giggle?”

This was enough to get the two-time NBA champion to laugh before he answered saying, “Ya.” Unfortunately for the Nets, this was Letterman’s last question, and he left before any other player came out.
Shortly after when Blake Griffin arrived at the table, the veteran was asked if he saw David Letterman earlier. A stunned Griffin responded, “I almost made a joke, well he looks like David Letterman … I didn’t know David Letterman came to our Media Day. Wow ok, missed that one.”
