Danny Green discusses comfortability for James Harden, goals for Sixers

Philadelphia 76ers guard Danny Green discusses the comfortability of James Harden as well as the team’s goals down the stretch.

CAMDEN, N.J.–The Philadelphia 76ers have had 14 games with James Harden after they acquired the superstar guard from the Brooklyn Nets in a deadline deal. In those 14 games, Harden is averaging 22.4 points, 9.9 assists, and 7.6 rebounds while shooting 41.5% from the floor and 34.8% from deep.

It has not been easy for Harden during these first 14 games as he continues to try and find his way within the offense. He has to continue to make adjustments around Joel Embiid, Tobias Harris, Tyrese Maxey, and everybody else and there have been some bumps in the road.

As they head into these final eight games before the playoffs begin, Philadelphia just wants to get everybody on the same page in order to be ready for the postseason.

“I think he’s pretty comfortable,” said veteran Danny Green. “He’s still learning a lot of the things that we do defensively. The philosophies, offensively, of where to find a spot and also Jo’s spots in playing with him and also playing with different lineups, different rotations. Rotations have been different each night. We have different guys with them and sometimes 20 minutes with Georges (Niang) sometimes more minutes with Tobias or less minutes with Tobias, more minutes with Tyrese.”

For Harden, Green, and the rest of the Sixers, they still have issues that need to be worked out. Philadelphia doesn’t exactly have the chemistry down pat just yet and that is the real focus for this team as they head down the stretch.

“I think we need some more minutes behind the wheel with the rotations of what the playoffs might look like,” Green added. “I want to be more comfortable finding where I get more rhythm and where my spots and shots will be. Defensively, who I’m gonna be talking and rotating with and just figure out what our playoff rotations going to be. Obviously, that’s going to change matchup to matchup. but just getting more minutes behind the wheel with the guys that I know that I’ll be sharing the floor with the most during those times.”
