Daniel Jones to be interviewed on CBS special ‘In The Huddle With Tony Romo’

New York Giants QB Daniel Jones will appear on an upcoming CBS Sports special, “In The Huddle With Tony Romo.”

On Sunday, May 24 at 2:00 p.m. ET, CBS will air a 30-minute special titled “In The Huddle With Tony Romo.” And during this Memorial Day event hosted by reporter Tracy Wolfson, retired Dallas Cowboys quarterback and current CBS Sports lead game analyst, Tony Romo, will sit down with three of the NFL’s young quarterbacks, including Daniel Jones of the New York Giants.

In addition to Jones, Buffalo Bills quarterback Josh Allen and New York Jets quarterback Sam Darnold will also be interviewed.

Per CBS:

The special, “In The Huddle With Tony Romo,” will feature Romo talking with the three young quarterbacks about the X’s and O’s of the position, the difficulties of preparing for next season in a “virtual off-season” setting, making the leap from being a first-year quarterback to the second year, and second-year to the third, as well as show a different side of their lives on and off-the-field as an NFL quarterback.

Jones and Romo certainly aren’t new to each other with the Giants quarterback previously reaching out to Romo to discuss Jason Garrett and his offense.

“I spoke with Tony briefly,” Jones told reporters earlier this week. “We didn’t get into the system a whole lot. I look forward to talking to some of those guys and hearing their perspective on it.”

Jones has also spent some time watching offensive film on the Cowboys from Garrett’s time in Dallas.

“I certainly did that, diving into some of the Cowboys’ stuff and what they had done in the past,” Jones added. “The rules make it tough to communicate a whole lot about that stuff, so there’s a little bit of patience involved in that and getting to the point where we could get the playbook and kind of understand some of the concepts and get some of the verbiage. I did my best to be prepared for when I could get my hands on that stuff.”

The 30-minute special with Jones will help “assist in the NFL’s COVID-19 relief efforts to support the American Red Cross, CDC Foundation, Feeding America, Meals on Wheels, Salvation Army and United Way.”
